Friday Grab Bag: Yarn Review

Alright this Friday is a Grab Bag special!

One of the newest yarns in my collection is some Blue Moon Fiber Arts Socks That Rock Lightweight. This is mentioned in yesterday’s post about my new socks I cast on. I have to say I’ve been loving every moment of knitting with this yarn.

STR Lightweight - Yosemite

The Yosemite colorway is what I’m knitting the socks out of and I’m loving the color combinations. It is short repeats of about 3-5 inches per color or less. The yarn has a wonderful twist to it and really holds up to knitting and reknitting (I knit that toe 3 times and the yarn didn’t look any worse for wear, even after the 2nd time frogging!)

The fiber is a 100% Superwash Merino. In my experience most superwash merinos tend to be a bit rough until you wash them up. This is super soft already, I can only imagine what it is going to be like after a good soaking! The finished knitting has a lovely stitch definition to it as well!

STR Lightweight - Rooster Rock

I have a 2nd skein of this in my stash in the Rooster Rock colorway. I am definitely going to enjoy knitting up a 2nd skein in the future.  I think I might be in love with this yarn.

Please feel free to subscribe to the blog by using the link on the right hand side, or add me to your favorite feed reader! This way you won’t miss out on any fun posts!

Now you can head over to Tami’s for some actual FO Friday posts!

  1. I’ve never tried socks that rock, but I’ve heard many wonderful things about it. May have to get my hands on some (when the current stash is slightly more manageable!) Love the yosemite colourway

  2. They have such fantastic colorways! I’m hoarding a skein of Motley Hue that’s waiting for just the right project. Meanwhile, I’m kind of dying to see your rainbow sock. Pics soon, please?

  3. I was just ogling some Blue Moon sock yarn on Ravelry the other day, now the fact that you love knitting with it is making it even more tempting…

I really like that Yosemite colorway, too.
