Crocheting over lunch…

…is an interesting thing really. I sit there at my lunch table working on my latest project. The guy at my table (yes, guys, I’m an engineer afterall) are just mezmerized by this act. I mean one is like, “Can you make me a sweater?”, or “How about a hat?” The other is attempting to read the pattern and mumbling things like “This looks really complicated,” and “What is does that mean?” Still they just kept watching. “Are you putting knots in it?” “How does it stay together?” I can honestly say I wasn’t expecting that reaction, but what can I expect, we are all a bunch of engineers. I’m kind of wondering what they will say today. I’ve made some serious progress on it since yesterday.

I’m working on this bag called a “Starling Bag.” It’s by Futuregirl. You can check out her blog here. I think this bag will be awesome when it’s complete. I have the bottom done and have started to make it up the sides. I’m hoping when it is done it will be the perfect size to carry a crochet project around in. A small project of course, like a scarf, or another bag perhaps.

I think here tonight when I get home from work, I’ll put some photos of my progress up here. Oh wait maybe I can link to them in Ravelry. Here is a link to my project page, let me know if it works or not. If it does, there you can get the pattern, or the link to the pattern. It even has the yarn I chose to use on there. How handy is that?
