Going to Colorado Hat

Well I have an FO to post on here. It has certainly been long enough.

This week my LYS got in a new shipment of the lovely Malabrigo Yarns. They had some of the Malabrigo Rios in a lovely colorway called Arco Iris. I can’t describe how much I love this colorway! For some reason it just spoke to me at the shop. I wouldn’t have normally bought such a “busy” yarn, but it really works!

You have to be wondering why this is called my “Going to Colorado Hat.” Well in May of this year my husband and I are taking a much needed vacation and visiting Estes Park, Colorado. This will be my first time in Colorado and my first time seeing mountains, oh and moose or elk. I’m really hoping for a moose. I figured it would still be a bit chilly in the mountains and I would need a hat to keep my ears warm because I’m a wimp like that.

This was a super quick knit and I will definitely be making it again in the future. There is about 1/3 of a skein left of the Malabrigo, so I’ve been contemplating knitting up some short fingerless mitts with the remainder. Maybe a pair of Maine Morning Mitts. I lost my Noro ones sometime this winter and need to replace them.

Take care this week.
