So the last few days I’ve been diligently ignoring the FLS sweater, and knitting on my Toe-Up Socks. The sweater is going to stay ignored for awhile longer. The socks however are coming along great! I am about 1.5 inches into the leg of the sock and am trying to think about what kind of cuff I want. I’m thinking a simple ribbed cuff is what I’m going to do, unless one of you out there have a better idea. If you do post it in the comments section!
For some reason last night I decided to dig out the Shetland Lace Triangle from the UFO’s pile and start working on it again. Sometimes that is how projects work. You start them, forget them, then suddenly one day you are inspired to work on them again. I managed to get 1.5 repeats (so about 15 rows) knitted last night. I think this is going to turn into my TV knitting. I wish I had a picture of it to share with ya’ll. All I have is an old one….
It’s about 4x bigger now. I’m also loving the Addi Lace needles for this project. They are pointy and have just enough ‘sticky’ to them that the lace isn’t sliding all over on them. I see more of these in my future!
So in addition to all of that, I’ve also taken on a new project. I’m hoping you readers can help me decide which one to do. A dear friend is getting married this August and I decided for her wedding present that I would make her a shawl for her wedding. She picked out the yarn she wanted last night as I wanted her to pick the right color. She chose Knit Picks Palette in the Cyan color. It’s a turquoise blue. Now I’ve just got to figure out which pattern.
Here is what I have it narrowed down to:
- Forget-me-not Lace Shawl by Evelyn A. Clark
- Traveling Woman by Liz Abinanthe
- Heartland Lace Shawl by Evelyn A. Clark
- Swallowtail Shawl by Evelyn A. Clark
Yeah, I like Evelyn A. Clark’s designs ALOT. Any of those would be fine shawls, I just don’t know what one to do. I’m going to create a poll that will show up here and you can vote for which one you like. I’ll check it Saturday and see which one is in the lead.
Until another day!

I like all of them! Although I did vote for only one 🙂 I would really like to knit a shawl but I may start with something a bit easier (and smaller). I need to knit an entire pair of socks first.
Update your picture! I wanna see it when it’s actually got a pattern to it. LOL
… oh, and Andrea, you can start with a shawl. They’re not too difficult– you just have to pick the right pattern and have a good teacher.
Er… I meant a shawl like this one.
I voted for the Heartland Shawl because you can add beads to the border — and I think beads would be a nice touch. I can show you how to put them in if you decide to add this detail.
